YiShing Bubble Ice Store 一心泡泡冰

Right after my satisfying dumpling meal, me and John head to a ice-cream bar called YiShing Bubble Ice Store. I ordered one ball of mango flavor ice-cream and another being strawberry flavor. What so special about the ice cream sold here are that they have sort of a bubbly-like texture, and you can see they'd form little bubbles when they melt. It only cost me NT30/RM3 for a cup of 2 ice cream balls.

Seriously, Häagen-Dazs and Baskin Robbins are so overrated.

Hualien GongZheng Street Dumplings 花蓮市 公正街 "公正包子"

The night before typhoon JANGMI hits, my pal, John brought me to the famous GongZheng Street dumpling store for dinner. After one whole day of drama rehearsal, i was glad to stuff some food into my empty tummy. I ordered one "stack" (i don't know what the bamboo container thingie called in English...hehehe...) of really delicious wanton, 10 pieces of these cute little dumpling infamously known as GongZheng dumplings 公正包子, with a price tag of NT5 per piece. On top of that, i ordered a small bowl of hot and sour soup. All that just for a mere NT100/RM10/USD3.50!!!

One thing is, the dumpling didn't get famous for nothing, as the taste and the texture are simply heavenly. Maybe it's just because of my growling, empty stomach, but judging from the line of people stretching over 100m queing up just for the dumplings, the dumplings might have a charm of its own after all.

"Thank You" Ahmad Ismail

A million thanks to Ahmad Ismail, the UMNO division chief of Bukit Bendera for :

- Saying that Malaysian Chinese are immigrants !

(Yea so are you Indon!)

- Saying that Malaysian Chinese are like the American Jews!

(Yea, you're same kind as Bush by comparison ! Besides I take that as a compliment !)

- You have your supporter tearing Koh Tsu Koon's photo into half !

(Yea, I know you have the urge to put up Lim Guan Eng's photo!)

- Your "fanS" Azhar to said that SinChew reporter should be executed by shooting him to death.

(Yea, we knew UMNO is a little bit worse than Communist party.)

- EVERYTHING!

(So that Malay, Chinese and Indian would not vote for UMNO anymore! You have such a special political agenda by the way.)

Thank you Ahmad Ismail for revealing the ugly side of UMNO and its Barisan component party !

I personally have tons of Malay friends who are nice and friendly. Wonder what is wrong with this guy.

Am i really ashamed of being a Malaysian?

Some readers asked me about one of my post of which i lamented about how ashamed i am of being a Malaysian, that, am i really pissed off by my home country so much i have to let the entire world know?

Honestly, i love my country. Ask any Malaysian students working or studying overseas, most will give you a sort of "yeah well, i love it, but yet i hated it sometimes, and why do you think i left my country..." and so on.

There won't be another country in the world where you can find even the Ah Lian, Ali and Muthu anywhere on the roadside who possesses more than 3 languages! I am grateful for my home country for providing me the priceless opportunities to learn so many languages.

(i ain't bluffing ya'll, but i speak up to 8 languages! Chinese, Malay, English, Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew, Indonesian, Hakka, and all those what we called it as "chapelang" [mixed] languages with English, Chinese and Malay all over it, just like Phua Chu Kang)

Secondly, seriously, pick any oversea Malaysian, ask them what they missed most about their hometown, they'll blabber out a string of the names of food. Two weeks here in Taiwan, and i am sick of the food here. All the food here fell under my criticizes; too salty, too oily, no flavors etc etc. I mean come on, curry is suppose to be really aromatic, spicy and tangy, instead of sweet, bland and not the slightest spiciness in it. Jezz, some curry are even worst than the mushroom soup they serve in Pizza Hut. One restaurant which serves curry in Hualien called Curry Queen serves, what i think is the closest to the Malaysian style, couldn't even lower the price. Sheesh, i mean, with NT140/RM14, i can buy half a chicken, 500gm of potatoes, curry paste and throw in some spices, voila! One pot of chicken curry whcih serves at least 5 people.

Ok, enough about the food. The point is, i don't hate my country. I'm just dissapointed by the attitude of the government, the political manipulation and the rights supressing of the "non-elite" races.

I love my country, and i'm gonna stress that fact once and for all, i don't hate my country, and i never will. Everywhere i go, i tell people how wonderful my country is, how great the environment is, how scrumtious the food are and how friendly the people are. I just wish, that those loud mouth politician would get their asses up, stop attacking others and start making a real change to our country.

51 years of independence (merdeka), it's time to grow up!

Typhoon

Seriously, typhoon hits Taiwan EVERY single week since i came back for the new semester,
and i'm surprise how well the tiny little country withstand all these natural disasters.

And now, typhoon JANGMI will hit shore in less than 2 hours. Great, instant noodles for dinner, again. On the plus side, class might be cancel for tomorrow, and the best part is, i don;t have to go for drama rehearsal!!!! Yay!!!

Anyhow, i went out last night for a stroll at a beach near the city center, and the waves are so cool! I mean, they're like a few stories high! There's also a report of a 5 story high waves hit on the QI SHING TAN beach.

Man, i gotta see that, but unfortunately (yeah, i'm nuts) the dorm master refuses to let me even step out of the building at all.

Love Of Siam 愛在暹邏 รักแห่งสยาม Rák Hàeng Sà-yăam

This has got to be one of the finest movie i've seen within these few months.
The final scene where Tong said to Mew that although he can't be Mew's boyfriend,
that doesn't mean he doesn't love him, brought me to tears (well, i am a sucker for sappy romance).

I mean, i really feel for Tong's struggle. Being an Asian, all these "forbidden" romance are taboos in our society. We either stay in the closet forever or faced being label a freak. But still, i guess, when there is love in the heart, there will always be hope that things will get better. (what the heck am i blabbering about???)

Guys, maybe this is a little late, but if any of you happen to be at Taipei on the 20th of September,
be sure to check out the movie.

Ahmad Ismail

Who does that dude think he is?
He's a motherfucking son of a bitch who has a mouth fouler than the ass of a skunk.

So we Chinese are immigrants,
what about him and all the other Malays?

I'm not trying to be racist here,
but go brush up your history (sejarah) before you criticize others dickhead.
