WHY HATE GAY PEOPLE SO MUCH?

WHY HATE GAY PEOPLE SO MUCH?*Why did Astro censor the words "Gay" & "Lesbian" from Oscar acceptance speeches?*

I want to thank Astro for screening this year's Oscars, which gave us the very heartwarming wins by the screenwriter and the lead actor of the movie
"Milk". Congratulations too to the movie "Milk", about the first openly gay man elected to public office in California who was then assassinated, for winning Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor. The acceptance speeches by screenwriter Justin Lance Black and actor Sean Penn were both moving, bold and timely. They spoke up about the need for equal rights, to love, to share this land, and to be heard. This year, the Oscars celebrated the kind of
diversity that the arts is able to champion; it's the kind of diversity that desperately needs championing in a world so overwhelmed by racism, war, and hatred.

This is part of Justin's speech:

"When I was 13 years old, my beautiful mother and my father moved me from a conservative Mormon home in San Antonio, Texas to California, and I heard the story of Harvey Milk. And it gave me hope. It gave me the hope to live my life. It gave me the hope one day I could live my life openly as who I am and then maybe even I could even fall in love and one day get married. I wanna I wanna thank my mom, who has always loved me for who I am even when there was pressure not to. But most of all, if Harvey had not been taken from us 30 years ago, I think he'd want me to say to all of the gay and lesbian kids out there tonight who have been told that they are less than by their churches, by the government or by their families, that you are beautiful, wonderful creatures of value and that no matter what anyone tells you, God does love you and that very soon, I promise you, you will have
equal rights federally, across this great nation of ours. Thank you. Thankyou. And thank you, God, for giving us Harvey Milk."

And this is Sean's:

"For those who saw the signs of hatred as our cars drove in tonight, I think that it is a good time for those who voted for the ban against gay marriage to sit and reflect, and anticipate their great shame, and the shame in their
grandchildren' s eyes if they continue that way of support. We've got to have equal rights for everyone," said Penn.

However, if you caught the Oscars on Astro, you would have noticed something so bizarre almost to be ironic. The words "gay" and "lesbian" have been censored from both these speeches. For me, this act of censorship defeated the very victory won by these two men. The two moments of silence rang out like the gun shots that killed Harvey Milk.

We live in a time when understanding is needed, when artists need to be bold in addressing the manifold injustices of the world. Hence, such a movie had
to be made, such acceptance speeches to be uttered. But by its act of censorship, Astro has sent a message to all Malaysians that gays and lesbians are still shameful things to be censored from the public's ears. As a gay man, I am truly offended. After all these years of contributing to the country through my work, of helping people regardless of their orientation, being proud of who I am and helping others be proud of who they are, I can
assure you that the only thing wrong is how much hate gays have to endure simply for the way we love.

What is Astro trying to achieve with the censoring of the words "gay" and "lesbian"? Do they think these words will promote homosexuality? Let me assure you that homosexuality cannot be promoted, it just happens. Just as a person's sexuality becomes apparent to him or her when the hormones kick in in the teen years; you don't need sex promoted to you by the TV, your body does its own promotion.

Meanwhile, words like "terrorist", "rapist" and "murderer" gets passed and nobody gets their panties knotted over how these words might promote terrorism, rapes and murders. On the other hand, words like "gays" and
"lesbians" that describe people among us who happen love the same sex get treated like it is a crime to even mention in public. Is Astro promoting hate over love? Just what kind of society does Astro want to be creating?
One where people can talk about terrorism but not love?

You want to know what breeds social ills? It is the kind of insecurity and low self esteem that results from such continual shaming through the media, that then leads to machismo, violence, bullying, and other superficial ways
with which men employ to compensate for their insecurity.

Does Astro not know that many of its own staff are gay? I won't name them, but trust me, I know many of them (and I congratulate Astro for smartly tapping into such a pool of talents). But is Astro now ashamed of its many
talented gay and lesbian staff?

And does Astro not know too that a huge number of its viewers are gay and lesbian? Otherwise, why bother to screen "Brothers & Sisters", "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy", "Six Feet Under" and other popular TV series that
show how gays and lesbians are not only part of society but play vital roles in shaping that society for the better? Is Astro ashamed of its gay and lesbian viewers? And if this is some national guideline, then Astro needs to
question it if it hopes to be fair to its viewers.

Stop censoring the words that describe who I am. I am a Malaysian. I work hard for the right to be here, and I work hard for the right to love, just like everyone else. Thank you.

Bad Haircut + Confessions of a Shopaholic

I just got a haircut, and...
it sucks~

I look like a freakin mushroom,
i mean, the guy is so dumb he only cut parts of my hair,
and left the sides untouch.

Well, ok, it's partly my fault for not checking out the final product before i left.
He's so cute he distracted me, ok?

Anyway, went to the city center for a movie.
Confessions of a Shopaholic.
While the movie is no Oscar material,
it certainly makes me laugh, hard.
Isla Fisher as Rebecca Bloomwood certainly did the character from the original novel justice.

Thinking of you~

I'm not sure what is wrong with me,
but it seems i dream about HIM quiet often for the past few weeks.

Maybe i need to contact him for closure?
I haven't dated since our breaking up 3 years ago,
and now, when i finally met someone that i like,
a lot,
maybe i'm just scared.

Maybe~
Just maybe~
it's just a phase that i need to go through~

[Kelly Clarkson - All I Ever Wanted] leaked!!!

I was so excited (that i almost peed my pants) when i saw Kelly's new album, All I Ever Wanted was leaked almost 3 weeks early! I haven;'t heard the whole thing yet, but since the first single, My Life Would Suck Without you got my head boppping and my feet stomping, i'm guessing the album should be real banging!

And here's the official music video for the first single,
My Life Would Suck Without You

Douchebag Chris Brown Did this to Rihanna?!

Seriously, Chris Brown did this to poor Rihanna?! Oh my God, what kind of animal is he? Poor RiRi, my heart goes out to her. That asshole Chris Brown should pay. Man, this is horrible...

Danny Gokey = My American Idol!!!

Guys, if you're from America, please, please, please, vote for Danny Gokey!! His rendition of Mariah Carey's Hero was, oh my God, perfect in just about every sense. Not since David Cook's rendition of Always Be My Baby that a performance wowed me so much!!!

Anyhow, i was slightly upset that the annoying Tatiana Del Toro was voted off...I mean, she may have the whole weird characteristic and overly dramatic personality, but she definitely can sing! Hope she earn a spot in the wildcard session. Same goes to Anoop Desai.

Congratulations to Michael Sarver, another of my favourite, who fortunately, got into top 12 as well. Yay!!!

First Week Back At School + My Oscar Prediction

First week back at the hell-hole itself,
and it was tiring.

I never cycle so much in my life, ever.
Man, no wonder my legs are so fit and all.

Great news is,
i'm back to being no.1 for the previous semester.
Yay me!!!
====================================================================

Anyway, the 81st Annual Academy Awards will be in 2 days.
Can't wait for it.

This year, i'm rooting~

Slumdog Millionaire = Best Picture
Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) = Best Director
O...Saya by A.R. Rahman & M.I.A (Slumdog Millionaire) = Best Original Song

Anne Hathaway (Rachael Getting Married) = Best Actress

Mickey Rouke (The Wrestler) = best Actor

Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight) = Best Supporting Actor

Penelope Cruz (Vicky Christina Barcelona) = Best Supporting Actress

Wall-E = Best Animated Feature

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button = Best Makeup

Ok, i know The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button got like a dozen of nominations,
don't get me wrong, it is a magnificent movie,
but it's just...not quite in par with the excellence of its peers.
But, all in all, it's good to see Brad Pitt is more than just a beautiful face and ripped body.
Kudos as well, to the people involved in making the movie for,
not only giving justice to the original text itself, but actually levitated it to even better!!

All in all, can't wait for the ceremony this monday!!
Oh, on of the other highlight is the always interesting red carpet event.
I'm excited for Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Jolie Pitt!!!

~Beach, Pasta, Melachony, Closure~

Walking on the beach,
Pangs of melancholy hitting me,
Hard,
Like the white water from the deep ocean.
Remember?
When we first came here,
There were people cleaning beach litter.
None of those matters,
For we were going to the little white cabin for pasta.
White Bolognese sauce on top.
Like our love, pure, yet full of delicious surprises.
My heart ache.
I thought of you.
I thought of me, myself.
Why do I think of you when I am the most vulnerable?
The Rose, blaring from my cellphone,
it is a flower,
and you,
its only the seed.
----
Lies the seed,
that with the suns love,
in the spring,
becomes The Rose>
A plane cut across the sky,
The loud noise pierce through my heart.
Suddenly, I was ache no more.
I pick up the phone,
To tell you I am fine.
Much to my surprise,
You texted me.
[You should only know that, you have the gene of beauty in you]

Shady (would be) Prime Minister of Malaysia

I still can't believe this shady, racist ass will be the next Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Guess he will try to blow me to bits after murdering me just like the way he "took care" of the Mongolian lady- Altantuya Shaaribu. Ha!

Just when we thought the whole crappy political scene of Malaysia couldn't get any worse than the whole parties hopping drama and racist remarks firing out of politicians like bullets and not to mention all those corruption and stuff, well, once again, in the spirit of "Malaysia Boleh!",
we top ourself to a new height of crappiness.

The whole "picture narration using paint" i did with the picture was inspired by the queen of all media, Perez Hilton himself. Heheh~

5S9 Gathering

I may not be that close with some of them, but they still carry an air of nostalgia with them. Being with this bunch of people reminds me of the somewhat bitter, somewhat sweet memories back in Jit Sin. Nonetheless, i love them.
Viva La 5S9/2005/JSHS

Condolences

God bless those who lost their home, their love ones and their lives in what is one of the most disastrous wildfire in Australia.

Taipei US/Canadian Higher Education Fair 2009

Um..
I've received the school that i've been assigned to represent.

But, the thing is,
i don't feel that enthusiastic anymore.

The school i was assigned with is Phoenix Christian Jr. Sr. High School of Phoenix Arizona.
Note: CHRISTIAN.

I'm not being bias with any religious beliefs,
but, why me?!

I have absolutely no understanding of Christianity whatsoever.
And, a jr. sr. high??
Who the hell would want to visit a booth of jr. sr. high?
People would be more interested in universities.
I mean, how many people you think would remotely want to
go oversea for their secondary education????

Argh!!!
I'm pissed,
cuz i feel like i'm a fragrant flower stick on a pile of cow dunk!
A waste of my talent!!!!!

Mormon Church's Contribution To Passage Of Prop H8 Greater Than They First Admitted

The Mormon church tried to pull a fast one with their support of the Yes On 8 campaign, which successfully outlawed gay marriage in California, but a recent investigation has exposed their shady ways, revealing $190,000 that the church spent assisting the passage of Prop 8.

While members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints donated directly to the campaign, the church initially reported almost no campaign activity.

At the prodding of a campaign watchdog agency, however, the church's involvement was revealed to include airline tickets, hotel rooms, and car rentals for the campaign, as well as $96,849.31 worth of "compensated staff time."

Californians Against Hate's Fred Karger, who filed the initial complaint against the church with the Fair Political Practices Commission, said that the findings raise more questions than answers, and believes there is even more activity since the first item listed in September.

He said, "I think there is still a lot of missing parts of the report because we know they've been active since June."

Messy Malaysian Politic

And so, here goes the crappy and messed up games stirred up by political parties in Malaysia.
I ain't really sure whatever crap is going on with the political party hopping incident nor do i care,
far as i know, all the politicians here are either messed up of totally fucked.

To these politicians,

Dear Mr. and Mrs. and Ms., ya'll should go home and screw yourself
thoroughly.
Why? You people took the oath of serving the people of the community you
were assigned to. You promised loads,
flourishing your speeches with promises and promises.
Turns out they're all a bunch of crappy empty promises
just so we idiots could get your ass up to the seat you so crave.

The moment you sat on it,
all the drama begins.
And so, the wolf shed his/her skin,
revealing your teeth.
Trying to bite each other's heads off.
Do you really care about the people's welfare at all??

We're all in a midst of crisis here,
all with the economic tsunami and everything,
if you people even pour half your effort in the whole situation,
instead of stabbing each others,
challenging each other for a debate or whatever,
the whole country wouldn't have to be so fucked-up.

Honestly, i don't really care about reading newspapers anymore.
It's too dramatic for me,
even The Dark Knight pale in comparison to the evil-ness and craziness surrounding these
jell-O brains.

That's said, i'm out.
Peace.
